Circulating long RNA for functional profiling of cancer patients

Wobble Genomics has just demonstrated that their circulating long RNA diagnostic platform has achieved a limit of detection which surpasses the current industry leader, Personalis, by more than an order of magnitude.

Wobble Genomics has developed a platform that detects circulating long RNA (clRNA), full-length RNA molecules recovered from a single blood draw, to profile how a patient's tumour is behaving at the resolution of drug-binding sites.

Wobble Genomics

A MAJOR MILESTONE

Latest data demonstrates a limit of detection more than an order of magnitude better than the current industry benchmark, while maintaining 100% molecular specificity at that level of sensitivity.

The Roslin Innovation Centre-based company has released a whitepaper that explores the data behind these results, what they could mean for the future of precision oncology, and sets out the scientific case supporting their  technology.

This new record in sensitivity also comes with a limit of blank or molecular specificity that is 100% at the given limit of detection.

This is particularly relevant for cancers such as lung and pancreatic, where liquid biopsy could help identify best treatment options (including fusion gene therapies, ADC therapies, and immune checkpoint inhibitors) that up to 45% of those patient types are currently not able to access.

Wobble Genomics' detection capabilities are going to be instrumental to their next phase of development, where they will be applying this to fusion gene diagnostics, and have already demonstrated potential to identify more patients that could benefit from these incredibly effective therapies.
