Midlothian Science Zone Business Forum took place on Tuesday 4th November 2025 with Ingenza Ltd at their new multi-million pound facility on Pioneer - Edinburgh Technopole.

Midlothian Science Zone Business Forum

This relocation for Ingenza Ltd is to Moubray Building on Edinburgh Technopole, part of the Pioneer Group - and we’re delighted to have the company remain within Midlothian Science Zone as they continue to progress.

The engineering biology company embarked on the development of a multi-million pound facility to help drive its ambitious growth plans. The purpose-built premises provide approximately 25,000 square feet, to enable expansion of Ingenza's fermentation, research and development facilities, and more than doubles the footprint of their previous space at Roslin Innovation Centre.

Following an opportunity for networking over coffee and delicious pastries, provided by ‘The Kitchen’ also located on the science park, we were fuelled for our tour of this state-of-the-art building and to meet with some of the department leads.

The Forum group, a mix of scientists and non-scientists, were all suitably impressed with the quality of the brand-new building, the scale of the facility and the extensive range of equipment, including what has been dubbed as the longest work bench in Midlothian Science Zone! This workspace also boasted one of the best views towards Bush House and the Pentlands beyond, particularly in the autumn sunshine.

Ingenza thrives on its team spirit and tackling the challenges they are faced with turning work into opportunity, and this was evident during the Covid years where the company diversified to work on a vaccine with partners and opening new markets.

The company’s bespoke inGenius™ platform technology is redefining drug substance development and sustainable biotech manufacturing, and this exciting move to the Moubray Building will provide an independent, world-class facility to better serve customers worldwide, accelerating business growth.

This investment and relocation opens a new chapter for Ingenza and they are delighted with their new facilities which took an intensive 18 months of planning and installation, whilst they still maintained full business operations. As always, their team spirit shone through and we wish them all the very best in the years to come as a major tenant – and employer - within Midlothian Science Zone.
